Dear Ex-Anthonians,

Greetings from your Alma Mater St Anthony's Boys' School (now known as St Anthony's Primary).

Some old boys from the school are now members of the staff and we are starting the Anthonian Alumni for all former pupils to re-connect with old friends and teachers, and possibly network and make new conatcts, and we would like to reach out to as many ex-Anthonians as possible to join the Alumni. A big thank you to those who have been consistently following this blog, even though its not regularly updated. But anyways, since tomorrow's teachers day, which is usually the annual meet-up for us, here's what's what:

In lieu of the fact that we've gone up one higher level and will probably visit secondary schools, the gathering will be for dinner. so far, its been decided to be at imm, having pepper lunch for dinner and maybe go stargazing upstairs after that. So whenever u decided to join us, just call me or hanjing. If you don't have our numbers, the people who'll also be going tmr are surya henry andai yiran yvonne clarence (sorry if i've missed anyone out)..

HEYY PEOPLE!

for those who realised you are using adult fare, here's the solution:

everyone should know the general ticketing machine ryt.(the machine that we always top up money in our ezlink card (which is also the machine we use to buy standard ticket)
and normally we will put our ezlink card on the "scanner" and wait for further instructions on the screen.

so this time, jus do wat u normally do (scan the card), and they will show u ur card's extended till 31st jan 2009!
u dun hafta press anything! so all u hafta do is scan the card on the machine ( YES,IT'S THAT EASY)

AND AFT DOING THAT...
you can go back to child fare!!:D

Hello awesomees!

This, is important. As you have seen from the previous posts, yunching is back for a visit.

The details of the upcoming gathering is as follows, and i really really really hope that you will all reply about your attendance! Hopefully, there'll be many many human beings joining us this time!

The following will be non-negotiable at the moment:
Venue: Sentosa (meeting point at Harbour Front MRT beside the control station)
Date: 27th December 2008, Saturday
Time: 11am to ~10pm (of course, you are very very welcome to come or leave at anytime!)

Yup, for the rest of the details, i'm still trying to work out with the rest, but it should include the following yah:
- inviting mrs betsy wong, mrs angela chung and mr raymond lee

- having potluck for lunch, by the beach! (that means, yall have to tell me what each of you will be bringing to prevent all of us from bringing a loaf of white bread each, and RSVP asap, so that we will all know how many servings we need!)

- budget! we all know that going for this trip will need $$, so i'm also trying to work out the approximate cost etc that we'll need for the whole gathering. will try to plan it so that we will not have to starve after that okay!

Oh, lastly! I need some help in contacting human beings on earth, to help me inform them. They are namely, kahhong, zixun, jasper, norman, yingzhe, gregory (i really dont know if he was in our convo), siyu (yiran's asking! thanks!), er jia, kaiwei, shermaine, si pei, wen jin, AND i dont know who i've missed out omg. >.<

Here in Canada, the month of August has brought rainy weather. Usually, August is a month of warm weather and sunshine, but we have had an unusually wet month. Some of you may be aware that we sell our unique handcrafted jewelry and inspirational products to the cruise ship passengers that dock in Saint John, NB. This past Saturday we had a ship dock and the rain was coming down. I felt bad for the passengers who were on vacation in our rainy city.

I had one woman in our booth and I said to her, "It's too bad it is raining. It would have been nicer if the sun was shining for you." Her response to me was, "It's okay, I am enjoying the day. If I waited only for the sunny days to enjoy life, I would miss out on some great days."

Her response made me think of how often we do wait for that one thing that we think will make us happier.
- when we make more money
- when we own our own home
- when we start that new job
- when the weekend comes, etc.

We need to live each day and enjoy it. I am not saying that we shouldn't have dreams and goals. What I am saying, though, is that we need to remind ourselves that everyday is meant to be lived.

"What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it."

Haha its been such a long time and 4 years have passed since we graduated from saps! Really miss those times when the guys played with what mrs anne lim defined 'black magic' xP haha. and those pixie stars versus santa helpers, and the times the prefects always stayed back as late as possible after recess to play bottle caps in the hall! its was so damn fun as compared to sec four life.

For those taking O lvls [people like me], O levels certainly is something that needs real hard mugging, unlike PSLE! haha. oyeah i recently found these bunch of people from 6-5'08 who have set up their own class blog too, and i requested for them to link us. haha. not sure if they would 'give us face' [LOL] but i've already linked them under 'affliates'.. Feel free to link any otehr batches of 6-5 blogs if you guys happen to stumble upon any!

haha.so anw, back to PSLE.. if any of the 6-5'08 peeps stumble upon here, enjoy your time as a class now. You'll really want to look back and relish these times and not have any regrets! Since herny is so busy and wants to write a blog post which is inversly proportional to his size, i shall elaborate on it.


Class Gathering on 10 August.
Can go anywhere. But must go east coast park to watch sunset. We can lyk go there at 6.30+ and sit on the breakwaters and watch the sunset together. Then afterwords go to the shops there to have dinner.

Movie lunch breakfast anything we have decided yet. Open to suggestions.

So hopefully a handful of pple will turn up . I know there are common tests in the coming weeks. I have them too. haha. so yeah just see if u wall can spend a bit of time for 6-5. use it as a destresser. haha. so just try to come.

We are open to suggestions on where we can go and if u want wat movies to watch. I heard simpsons was damn funny.

And yes it will be from morning till night.

We are Inspire '07, a student-run charity project officially funded and
supported by the Citibank-YMCA Youth For Causes 2007 programme. Proceeds
from Inspire go directly to our beneficiary, The Straits Times School Pocket
Money Fund. We hope to raise $300,000 in 2007 to ease the financial burden
of low-income families by making available pocket money for school-going
children.

Inspire '07 aims to raise funds to benefit needy students and raise
awareness of our financially-challenged peers. We are appealing for
volunteers for street sales sessions to be held at the Orchard and City Hall
areas any weekend from now till 19 August:

Every Saturday: (10am-2pm/2pm-6pm)
Every Sunday: (10am-2pm/2pm-6pm)

We welcome volunteers to join us as a class, CCA, or even simply as a group
of friends. Volunteers encouraged to join us for 2 or more sessions (can be
on different days) in sales of awesomely adorable teddy bears,
beautifully-designed Post-It¨ Notes and unique postcards to the general
public.

Every minute of your effort counts in helping us bring better lives to needy
children. If you are interested in joining us in our street sales effort,

eh. im pretty much erm. disappointed by the responses but its alright! heh. anyway, just an update. i realised how super busy everyone is, but i cant help but say that hey. class gathering is just how many times each year, its really up to you to decide if you want to be part of it. okay nevermind.

anyway! due to the terribly discouraging response i can only conclude that:
1. most of us are too busy to actually be bothered much
2. parents STILL do not allow (my apologies then for not realising)

okayokay enough of negative stuff! i was thinking that if thats the case, we should just have a more normal gathering. so now you all can vote!
we can either choose a date to:
1. go to the beach at east coast together and have a nice picnic or sth after that!
2. go to the beach and bbq at night!
3. normal movie watching and lunchtime!

Chalet outing message from me - Movie tickets

Hello decided to post here...i'm going to london Carnagie Hall for a performance in June so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to go chalet. I know this is what everyone hates, and guess what, I'm feeling like shit.

But I shall know by the start of next month, which is May.


Btw I've not been to a single chalet, and you can simply turn around and point the finger at my mum as the reason why I've not been to a single 6504 outing. class gathering!
yeah i know that most of our class gathering ended up quite unsuccessful but im sure it'll get better! x)
okay. i propose that we have a class gathering during june holidays and preferably on a sunday (which will either be the 3rd, 19th, 17th and 24th june) afternoon!
so can you guys try to keep these days free? and we'll decide which day exactly when all of us have confirmed the sunday that we'll mostly be free. :) you can email to me at ah-yumi@hotmail.com (yes, btw, i've changed my email!) or sms me your free dates okay!


yeah. i was thinking of having a gathering on a sunday because i dont think anyone will have cca on that day (okay maybe except for me. heh. x[ since i have a public performance sometime in july or august.) or any project meetings or anything. but hey, i know its like "sunday is a family day" for some, or maybe you are hanging out with your date on sundays, but i think sacrificing ONE sunday for 6-5 is nothing right? x] and if you have to attend church or lessons or anything on sunday mornings, then sunday afternoons shouldnt be too taxing i hope.

i hope all these rantings help! because i really hope that one day we can have more than 3/4 of the class attending a class gathering!


yeah. and since i hope that many people will attend, i should think of a fantastic place for all of us to go right? x] (since shopping and movies and lunches are out if theres so many of us going!) and i propose for us to have a chalet! :)))

and i was thinking that it will be a 2day-1night thingo (maybe sunday to monday morning!), two chalets side by side! - one for the gals one for the guys, so no problemo for any gender issues. x]
and we'll just hang out together, have a bbq at night, chit chat till the wee hours of the morning etc!

yep and you all have basically two choices to choose from, that is to have it at Pasir Ris, or, (since most of us live in the wonderful west part of singapore) at this country club's chalet called The Chevrons thats really near IMM (jurong east).

i've been to Chevrons with my sec two class, and i thought that it'll be a good place! besides, there's a bowling alley, mini arcade, nice swimming pool facing your chalet and the chalet is just the right size :)

As for Pasir Ris, you might wanna consider having it at Aloha Loyang which is pretty huge for 20 girls/guys per chalet, or perhaps coasta sands pasir ris that is quite ulu but huge and reasonably priced and near the beach, OR downtown east which is nearest to Wild Wild Wet and requires $1 entrance fee to the chalet per person. the plus points is that there's Escape, Wild Wild Wet, a lovely beach (its impossible to find a beach near Chevrons), and the bbq areas really feels more fun as compared to the one at Chevrons (i dont know why though! xD)

so you can email or sms me which one you'll prefer too!

oh and if you can get any discounts for booking any of the chalets can you contact me too then i can liase with you so that we wouldnt need to all pay so much! better still, you can sponsor the whole booking and usage of the chalet if you want to xD


yeah. and chalet is a good idea because we can all come at the time when we are free, then spend the rest of the night together (i dont think anyone here has a very active night life anyway xD)!

yeah BUT. i have to find a way to be a good loanshark and collect money from all you guys so that the person paying for the chalet and perhaps the bbq will not die from paying everything! estimated amount would be perhaps $20 per person (including the food)?

hmm so thats all i have to say for now, hopefully its something constructive!
and so im looking forward to receiving replies arh! please try to get everyone else from 6-5 to take a look or sth and i will collate all response by 6th may (sunday). any queries / problems (eg. if your parents do not allow or if you're going overseas) please contact me too! should there be really few replies, this whole brief proposal will be cancelled, so i hope you guys will msg me soon!
